NEW EVENT! Norwood Spring Clean: Beautify Your Block 2009

May 16, 2009
9:30am - 12noon

Why “Beautify Your Block”?

Litter is a problem in our community and many hands make light work.

What is it?
Beautify Your Block is a call to action for all citizens of Norwood. We ask that you pick up only one piece of trash on your block on May 16th. That’s it! If every citizen participated, Norwood would be remarkably cleaner.

How can you help?
Like we said, pick up one piece of trash on your block on May 16th. Want to do more? The organized cleanup effort will take place from 9:30am -12 noon on May 16th. Both groups and individuals are welcome to register. We need all the help we can get!

Groups will gather and park in the lot on the corner of Sherman Ave. and Station Ave. Grab a hot cup of coffee, review the map, and get ready to make Norwood beautiful!

Download the event flyer and pass it on!
Please take a look at the MAP and click "edit" to mark areas of most need.

Taking Care of Business!

NYPers,

Our biggest philanthropic event to date, Taking Care of Business, is around the corner...from 10am to 3pm on September 20, over 100 young professionals from all across Cincinnati as well as Xavier students will be converging upon Norwood to help beautify our already charming city!

We need you! We are teaming up with Cincinnati's largest young professional organization, Give Back Cincinnati, for this project. The Norwood Young Professionals have committed to have at least 25 volunteers participate. This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet your neighbors as well as like-minded young people from around the tri-state. It'll also a chance to show off the great things going on in Norwood, from Surrey Square to Linden Pointe to (most importantly) Chipotle!

The event is focusing on our business district from City Hall to Norwood Plaza and will include painting (Safety Lane, City Hall, Engine No. 2, and several private businesses), landscaping, and trash pickup.

It'll also be followed by a happy hour and social at Stones Lanes!

Please include "Norwood YPs" in the comments field when you register so that we can track our volunteers.

Thanks! We look forward to seeing many of you on September 20!
